Michael first started work in arboriculture back in 1999 when Hi-Line (an RSK company) originally formed.
After passing arboriculture tickets for chainsaw and climbing, he worked on the ground with a team carrying out tree clearance works on various elements of contracts for Western Power Distribution. After a short while, Michael progressed to team leader and took on the role of clearing all customer request issues regarding power lines and pricing hourly works.
Embarking on a new venture, Michael left Hi-Line in 2005 to help set up ProArb UK Ltd, where he became a director. The business ran utility arboriculture contracts for Western Power for ten years. While in this role, Michael gained experience and further qualifications, such as professional tree inspector, LOLER inspector and utility arb assessor, and was key to gaining ARB Approval for the company.
In 2015, he returned to Hi-Line as a field manager, working on the 132 kV contract for Western Power Distribution. After doing this for a year, a role became available as a contracts manager for the Torbay Council contract, alongside quoting works for domestic and commercial clients. Michael remained in this role until his family relocated to Kent in 2024 to be closer to his children and grandchildren. As part of the relocation, Michael took on a role within Hi-Line, working on the London Borough of Hillingdon and Barnet council arboriculture contracts.
In March 2026, Michael remained within the RSK Group and started as operational manager for RSK Countryside Management. Michael brings extensive experience and knowledge, and we are extremely excited to have him as part of our expanding team.
