Consultation on best land management techniques for the Outwood to Buckland Strategic Water Main Project
We worked closely with Sutton and East Surrey Water, on behalf of its contractor Clancy Docwra, installing a £15 million strategic water main project across 17 km of private land in Surrey. We consulted and advised on the best land management techniques during the construction of the schemeand methods of reinstatement on both permanent pasture and agricultural land. The reinstatement of fences, gateways and hedgerows is key to the completeness of a land-based scheme such as this.
The tasks included:
- alleviation of soil compaction
- reinstatement and reseeding of grassland leys
- wild flower and bird seed stewardship margin reinstatement
- tree removal/tree surgery works
- boundary fence reinstatement
- invasive weed spraying/topsoil bund spraying
- hedge planting
- fencing removal.
While working closely with our client, we managed to ensure all tasks were completed on time to fit within seeding and planting windows, which was vital to help reduce future costs from compensation claims from landowners.
