As part of the reinstatement of the environment around a new solar farm constructed by Belectric at Paddock Wood, Kent, we were asked to undertake a series of tree and hedge planting
This was part of the planning criteria that had to be satisfied before works could commence.
Twelve trees and 400 m of hornbeam hedge were laid down and took wonderfully within the clay environment. They were prepared beforehand and cared for afterwards with spraying, cultivation and mulching.
The task itself was challenging, as rain sometimes created a quagmire that was difficult to work in, but with the appropriate equipment, the project was completed on time and within budget.
The end result was the provision of a fine screen for local residents, who were very pleased with the outcome, as was the client.
