Utility arboriculture
What is utility arboriculture?
The main purpose of utility arboriculture is to prevent outages and dangerous situations across utility networks, for example trees striking power lines and telecommunication networks or trees that have grown too close to and threaten network integrity. This work ensures public safety and network reliability.
We ensure full health, safety and environmental assessments are completed before starting any tree surgery work, following all relevant risk and method statements. Our teams are qualified climbers, working in accordance with the working-at-height hierarchy, deploying mobile elevating work platforms (MEWP) where appropriate.
Operating to industry standards, we ensure the safe and effective removal of trees, branches and vegetation in utility corridors, using traditional and mechanical approaches.
Unpredictable weather across the UK can cause major disruption to the networks that keep our homes and businesses online. Our teams are equipped to respond in a timely and effective manner, alongside completing planned network maintenance.
